Across the nation as a whole it has now risen by 164,000 to 1.79 million, the highest figure in 17 years, I wonder how the government will manage to convince us that we still need so many new immigrants?.

I really think we are in a mess, Sarah. I am not really an economist, but our whole economy is geared towards the service and financial sector - we do not manufacture anything, anymore.
If our banks are not making how does one balance the books? What is it we are exporting? Diversity awareness coaches and management consultants?
The above link shows the Kirk in Scotland has cravenly welcomed Sharia law. Not totally off topic as today Peter Hitchens reveals that Boris Johnstone (who has been learning Arabic) has made the Islamic Declaration of faith in public. "There is no God but Allah and Mohammed is his messenger" If this is true its disgraceful. Boris didn't get his votes honestly did he?
